Irish Retro Transport is delighted to be collaborating with Paul Savage in the publication of his new 84pp book featuring a selection of over 130 black and white images of buses and coaches from various Northern Ireland fleets, including HMS Catherwood, the Northern Ireland Road Transport Board, the Ulster Transport Authority, Ulsterbus, the Londonderry and Lough Swilly Railway Company, Belfast Corporation Transport Department and Citybus.

Those images, which date from the late 1930s to the early 1980s, record the development of the bus in Northern Ireland during that half-century. While most of the images are official company record shots of vehicles in build, new vehicles just delivered from the coachbuilder, repaints to revised, new or advertising liveries there are several interesting views of Northern Ireland street scenes in the 1960s, when there were fewer cars on the road and the bus reigned supreme. There are also some bus station and depot views from the 1980s.

This limited edition A4 portrait book ia now available in softback (STG £18.95 / EUR €21.50 +p&p) or hardback (STG £26.50  / EUR €29.50 +p&p) and is a must for anyone with an interest in road passenger transport history in Ireland.
